Day 1: Entering the big Officer Factory

Jenny has officially started her training!

I dropped her on base Monday afternoon around 2pm--or should I say around 1400 as military people tend to say. Although, I'm not sure the word "around" is part of the military vocabulary...

1 backpack, 2 suitcases, 1 printer, and tons of hangers. Jenny is ready!
Upon arrival, every student had to leave their luggage and wait in line for further instructions.  Then, they were led inside a big building.  It kind of made me think of a group of well behaved chickens entering a chicken factory where they would then be transformed in chicken nuggets.  Just replace the chickens by students, and the nuggets by officers and you get the idea.

I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures.  They were shot "paparazzi style" from afar.
Anyway,, training has finally begun! Hooray!  Jenny already started to learn very useful skills like marching in line or standing still for a very long time.  She's also on her way to master the delicate art of not moving the eyes while someone engages in a conversation with you yells at you.

Good news, Jenny can keep her phone with her (at least in the room)!  So she'll be updating the blog and reading all your comments!

She called me before bedtime to tell me about her first day.  The afternoon was mostly dedicated to filling out paperwork and attending different kind of presentations (security on base, etc.).  She promised me some pictures from her room.  I'll post them in the next blog entry.

Today's specific subject of prayer: Energy!
We were told the first days of training are the hardest. Please pray that Jenny can get good sleep at night in order to get the energy she needs everyday.
